Robert Philips, Managing Director

Port Chester was founded by Robert Philips, who has 20 years of
leadership experience in international marketing, hospitality,
import/export, energy and urban development.  His experience spans
projects in Brazil, Canada, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea,
Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, UK and
the USA.

Philips began his career in consulting, working for the ground-breaking
JP Associates in Rochester, New York.

Under JP's contract with the City of Rochester government, he served in
a leadership role helping the Economic Development Department create
two distinctive, branded neighborhoods in the downtown area of
Rochester:
The East End and the St. Paul Quarter.  Both of these areas
thrived and provided the impetus for the urban core's gentrification
throughout the 1990s.  A notable portion of the work included creating
and managing the vibrant East End Nightlife Festival, a trend-setting live
music and dining event founded in 1990, that continues to thrive today.

Philips also worked extensively with Rochester Gas & Electric, helping
them introduce Energy Efficient Green Technologies such as
power-saving HVAC and consumer appliances; compact fluorescent light
bulbs and energy audits for industrial facilities.  Marketing campaigns
were designed and implemented for the industrial, commercial,
residential and farm markets.

Philips later spent 12 years at Los Angeles-based
Oakwood Worldwide,
a global leader in real estate management, corporate housing and
serviced apartments.  In a series of ascending roles, he was part of the
team that engineered the firm's expansion to Asia and Europe; led
numerous Internet and field marketing initiatives; guided global public
relations from California headquarters; and supervised a 50-person
sales and marketing team in Asia, achieving record revenues for the
firm's hotels and serviced apartments.

Philips has also worked extensively with Japan's
EastEdge Partners,
assisting them with real estate development, management and
brokerage projects in Asia.

Philips has been a member of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA),
Hospitality Sales & Marketing International (HSMAI), American Chamber
of Commerce (Singapore, Guangzhou, Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur), Public
Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the Asia Society. He has been a
guest speaker at the China International Real Estate Conference and
the New York State Conference of Mayors. Philips has a Bachelors'
Degree from Hobart College in Geneva, New York.
